What is "Arrive and Drive" racing?

It's a fast track to racing. By renting a professionally prepared race car you can save time and money. You don't have to own a race car, a truck and trailer, and shop and tools to go racing, and you don't have to know everything about a car to race it. This allows you to concentrate on learning to drive and having fun. We are your racing team!

In addition to promoting our business, the design, build, rental, and sale of race cars and parts, we also want to promote the great sport of road racing. Some consider it a gentleman's race; those people evidently have never been on the track. The competition is fierce, but before the race it is an interactive group of auto enthusiasts helping each other to get every car on the track. After the race it's about sharing food and beverages, story telling, and video reviewing of the day's events. Some will be working late into the night making repairs for tomorrow and there is always plenty of help and advice. Go to a NASA event and see what it's all about.

You don't have to jump in with both feet; there is a natural progression ...and a starting point for everyone.

Beginners may want to start out auto crossing. This is a very inexpensive venue. You can use your street car or a race car. Events are organized in most major cities; it may be at a large parking lot, a municipal airport, or on race course. For more information on autocross check out NASA, SCCA, or search the web for a local organization.

As a novice or amateur you may want to start on one of the great road courses through out the U.S. Most of these tracks go un-noticed, but they are all over. Click on "Tracks" at the left to see a map of most U.S. road courses.

There are a couple of ways you can get on a road course...

There are car clubs for almost every model of car and many of these clubs organize "track days" at road courses. Often entry is open to non members to help make it affordable for their members.

Another program that will get you on a road course is HPDE (High Performance Driver Education.) This is la self paced driving school. Starting out with an instructor (usually a race car driver) and progressing through 4 levels typically. NASA, SCCA, and some race tracks and local car clubs offer this type of structured driver education. It is a worthy step to competition school.

If you already know you want to go racing get signed up for a comp school. Comp schools are offered by NASA, SCCA, private schools, and some tracks. Make sure the school you choose to attend is recognized by the sanctioning body you intend to race with.

Already have a competition license? Then the road is at your feet. Get signed up for a car and an event. We'll make it easy for you to keep your edge and maintain your license.
